Daniel Stewart is a plant and restoration ecologist who has operated as an independent consultant (Asarum Ecological Consulting) since 2014. Daniel graduated with a BSc from the BCIT Ecological Restoration program in 2015, where he studied the habitat associations and germination requirements of federally-listed Bidens amplissima. He then completed his MSc at UBC in 2021, where his thesis investigated cattail invasions in the Fraser River Estuary. Much of Daniel’s recent work has been linked to the conservation, restoration, and management of estuarine plant communities. Daniel is passionate about wetland plant ecology, species at risk, invasive species management, and research that can inform and improve future practices.
