Matthew MacKinnon, Biodiversity Policy and Projects Manager with the District of North Vancouver presentation is “Building a Resilient Future: The District’s Nature & Biodiversity Strategy” which will provide a comprehensive overview of the District’s initiatives regarding sustainability and the importance of biodiversity in building resilience against climate change and urban development. Aysha Mcconkey with the Community Bat Programs of BC presentation is “What they do in the shadows – Bat Conservation on the South Coast in Response to White-Nose Syndrome” which will include an introduction to bat species of our region, understanding white nose syndrome (what is it, where is it, what is being done), and ways to get involved in bat conservation.
